Working with provincial, national and international supplier and value chain partners and networks, the ACAMP will offer services to its customers that make possible the commercialization of MNT enabled devices, namely:
Providing access to equipment and facilities on a pay-per-use basis, including: contract packaging and product development and contract low-volume manufacturing to facilitate commercialization. Focus will be on the core technologies of MEMS, optics, RF-instrumentation, microfluidics and biosensors.
Enabling customers to create prototypes to attract customers and venture capital in a timely, cost- efficient manner. ACAMP will advise and facilitate the development of products that customers need and that Alberta’s industry can provide now and grow in the future.
The ACAMP’s packaging and assembly and product development groups will provide support for regional companies embarking on MNT commercialization by:
Some of this capability will be contained directly within the ACAMP program and some will be delivered through partnerships with other organizations such as the Universities of Alberta and Calgary, the Alberta Research Council, TEC Edmonton, MSTRI, UTI, CMC, NRC IRAP, MANCEF and IEEE.
Marketing MNT is about providing critical product development support and other key services to customers and the industry. The ACAMP program will lead in identifying and establishing strong channels to key commercial markets and the capability to interface with the markets to ensure that commercially successful products are developed.
In association and collaboration with other lead agencies and organizations within Alberta, e.g., TEC Edmonton, UTI (Calgary), ACAMP will operate to help enhance the services of Alberta’s existing fabrication capacity, including campus micro and nano fabrication facilities, and to help improve reliability of low-volume micro-device manufacturing by companies and organizations working on development of MNT devices with commercial potential.
